Assam Blast

For some the Indian Independence Day is a day for celebration, for some it's a time to lost their dear ones and for the United Liberation Front of Assam, which is accused of trigging the bomb blasts, it is a time for them to make 'strong political' statement that they meant business when it comes to dealing with the Union government at the Centre.

Whether we like it or not violence is in no way good to both the parties. It has always been the common people who pays the price in this so-called political struggle between ULFA and Indian government. If somebody in both the camps really wanted to foster better understanding of the situation the best solution is immediate dialogue.

The ULFA and Indian government need to find a peaceful solution at the earliest. Even if they are not in position to sit face-to-face for talks, a similar Indo-NSCN pact-type should be put in place so that both parties at least abjure violence. Attacks and counter attacks will only lead to more bloodshed for the common man.
