No Prisoner Released on Eid

Srinagar, September 29: Jammu & Kashmir Government has decided only to release the detenues involved in militancy related cases. There is no good news for the families who were waiting the release of the innocent prisoners arrested in the mass uprising protests during the last two months including the leaders and acitivists of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC).

As per the reports the authorities have decided to release 21 detenues, languishing in different jails in militancy related cases, on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr.

A local news agency KNS reported that the state government has decided to release 21 detenues who were lodged in different jails in connection with militancy related cases. The detenues would be released on Tuesday.

KNS reported that a high level meeting was held on September 27 with Home Secretary in the chair and was attended by Director General Police, Director General Police (CID) besides other top intelligence officials.

The meeting short listed 21 detenues for release, KNS added.

However, KNS reports said that those arrested during past two months may not be included in the list of those being released.
